Stardom Superstar Hana Kimura Dead At 22

The entire professional wrestling community was startled as Hana Kiruma posted self-mutilation images on Twitter accompanied by tweets that alluded to saying goodbye. Tragically, our worst fears came true.

At 12:10am EST, Stardom confirmed that 22-year-old Hana Kiruma had passed away.

Hana Kimura was one of the top stars for the promotion and also recently starred on a Japanese Netflix reality show called Terrace House that caused fans to recently cyberbully her online.

Following the tragic loss of the very talented Hana Kimura who made the heartbreaking decision to end her life at merely 22 years old amid cyberbullying, I felt it was a very relevant time to touch on this subject.

According to a UK study in 2018, children and young people under 25 who are victims of cyberbullying are more than twice as likely to self-harm and exhibit suicidal behaviour.

Cyberbullying should be considered by policymakers who implement bullying prevention.

If you experience any cyberbullying, do not respond, do not retaliate, keep a record of everything, block the person doing the bullying and finally, tell someone.

If you're a parent, it's also crucial to teach your child safe online behaviour and set ground rules. Talk to them about self-respect and help them understand it's important to be true to their values. Once they post something online, it may never go away.

Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle.

The Signature Spot sends our deepest condolences to Kimura’s family, friends and fans during this tragic time.
