The Signature Spot highlights the past and present of professional wrestling.
My content philosophy centers on delivering unique perspectives that stand apart from the mainstream wrestling media landscape. While others may chase clicks through controversy, the focus here is authenticity and substance.
I've spent years honing my craft across multiple industries, and this diverse background allows me to examine professional wrestling through a multifaceted lens. Whether analyzing business metrics, dissecting production techniques, or exploring storytelling nuances, every piece reflects this comprehensive approach.
The Signature Spot was never meant to be just another wrestling blog, it's a carefully curated space where passion meets professionalism. Each article, social post, and analysis is crafted to provide value while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
I’ve always desired content that resonates with casual and hardcore fans by weaving together industry insights with engaging narratives. This balanced approach sets The Spot apart in an increasingly crowded digital landscape.
The Early Days - A Podcast
In October 2018, The Signature Spot with Chris Toplack was launched as a weekly podcast on all major platforms. It existed as a digestible and professional show that placed an emphasis on quality. Every show was written, produced, voiced and promoted by yours truly and included the following:
Show Recaps
Highlights from the Week
Industry News & Rumours
Full Event Previews and Predictions
Topics of the Week
Interviews with Featured Guests
Listen to Past Episodes: YouTube / Apple Podcasts / Spotify / iHeartRadio / Google Podcasts / Stitcher.
With a child on the way and increased responsibilities at work, I decided to shut the podcast down, with the final episode released in October 2019.
A New Focus
In 2020, I placed more of an emphasis on growing the website while transitioning into publishing articles. In the summer of 2020, I brought on our Senior Contributor while I decided to spend my time curating the social media content and suggesting new article concepts.
The Signature Spot Articles feature a wide array of topics, both from the past and present, which includes the following:
Wrestler Spotlights
Revisited Rivalries
Definitive Timelines
What-If or Reimagined Scenarios
Reviews
Detailed Recaps
Live Experiences
Interviews
Growing Our Community
When our website began gaining traction in 2021, I consciously decided to channel my energy into building our Facebook community.
Unlike the countless wrestling pages that settle for posting basic image captions, relying on AI to generate their content, or endlessly promoting their articles, I committed to curating meaningful, diverse content that would truly resonate with our audience.
Every day, I challenge myself to deliver something worthy of their time and attention. The second I stop delivering on this challenge, I promise to walk away.
The response was beyond my wildest expectations. Within mere months, our Facebook community grew organically to over 25,000 followers, reaching more than 5 million users.
During a few months, The Spot reached record numbers of reaching nearly 20 million users, all organically.
That momentum hasn't slowed. As of January 2025, The Spot is nearing 100,000 followers across all platforms and consistently reaches well over 7 million users monthly.
From day one, my vision was clear: create an inclusive sanctuary where wrestling enthusiasts could gather to celebrate and discuss their passion, both past and present, without the toxicity that often plagues online spaces.
The Signature Spot will always remains a professional yet warm community that values genuine connection with you, our members.
Here, you will find a place where you can set aside life's pressures and immerse yourself in the sport we all love.
