IMPACT Wrestling Results - 09-29-2020 - The North vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Four of the best tag teams in the world are vying for a shot at IMPACT World Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns, and we’ll see two pivotal showdowns this week on IMPACT!, as Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson, The Good Brothers, take on Dez & Wentz of The Rascalz, while former titleholders The North square off against Ace Austin & Madman Fulton. We’ll find out who attacked Eddie Edwards as IMPACT! went off the air last week, plus an update from Rich Swann on his road to recovery as he prepares to challenge “The World Class Maniac” Eric Young for the IMPACT World Championship at BOUND FOR GLORY. The Knockouts tag team division will also be spotlighted, as Havok & Neveah battle Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie. Johnny Swinger goes one-on-one with Fallah Bahh to determine who will be John E. Bravo’s best man. Plus a rematch from last week’s main event, as Tenille Dashwood takes on Jordynne Grace in a clash of top Knockouts contenders.

The show begins with a recap of the X Division Number One Contenders Triple Threat match won by Trey Miguel and the quick fashion in which Rohit Raju retained his title. The recap then moves to focus on IMPACT World Champion Eric Young running roughshod all over the show and Eddie Edwards returning to attack him and promising to take back the World Title.

As always, our commentary team is Josh Matthews and Madison Rayne.

Knockouts Tag Team Match – Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary vs. Havok & Nevaeh

Result: Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary win via pinfall when Taya pins Nevaeh

Thoughts: First and foremost, its so good to see Rosemary in action back in the IMPACT Zone. I’ve been a huge Rosemary fan for years now and she was one of the main reasons I was excited to take on the job of covering IMPACT. Havok and Rosemary immediately get in each other’s faces but are separated by their partners so that Taya and Nevaeh can start the match. The team of Nevaeh and Havok do a fantastic job of cutting the ring in half and preventing Taya from getting the tag to Rosemary for much of the match. Rosemary finally gets the hot tag and begins decimating her competition. Action between all four leads to Taya hitting The Road To Valhalla on Nevaeh to get the win.

While celebrating together Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan attack and beat the hell out of Rosemary, leading to Nevaeh & Havok running them off while Taya checks on Rosemary.

Backstage The Good Brothers are telling stories of Gallows in a Japanese karaoke bar until they are interrupted by the Motor City Machine Guns who call them out for always telling stories instead of contributing to the tag team division. Anderson and Shelley get into it over the progress in the dojos in Japan, with the segment ending to a callback to Scott Hall infamously telling the Dudley Boyz he can’t wait to kick out of their finisher.

Backstage Gia interviews IMPACT Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee regarding Kylie Rae’s challenge for the Championship at Bound For Glory. Gia announces that Purrazzo will be defending the Knockouts Championship against Susie at Victory Road.

Knockouts Singles Match – Tenille Dashwood vs. Jordynne Grace

Result: Jordynne Grace wins via submission.

Thoughts: A rematch from last week’s main event, Dashwood is of course introduced by Kaleb with a K. No time wasted as the two go at one another with Grace dominating the early part of the match until Tenille lands a nasty neckbreaker to take control. A lot of back and forth before Grace locks on the chokehold that Tenille tapped out to last week but the referee did not see. Different story this week as Dashwood taps out giving Grace the win putting them at one victory each.

Backstage Moose is looking for EC3. He is informed that he has his own locker room and throws a random employee in a hoodie against the wall before realizing it isn’t EC3. The employee says he is going to HR while Moose tries to smooth him over with compliments. As soon as he leaves, EC3 appears via video to let Moose know he has failed to find him. He says that next week he will finally burn and kill the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the show and invites Moose to be there.

We get a video package showing Rich Swann rehabbing and getting ready for his big match against Eric Young at Bound For Glory. Rich’s doctor is interviewed and talks about how Rich is constantly at the gym training and will be ready to go.

The IMPACT! Plus Flashback Moment Of The Week is from TNA Victory Road 2012 with a match between Gail Kim and Madison Rayne for the Knockouts Championship. Gail Kim hits her finisher Eat Defeat to retain the Knockouts Championship.

Outside we see Heath and Rhino discussing how his infomercials have caught the eye of IMPACT Management and may want to talk to him. Heath reveals he didn’t use the wad of cash they stole from Hernandez but instead maxed out his credit cards, and almost on cue they are attacked by Reno Scum and Hernandez, who takes back his cash.

Rhino approaches Scott D’Amore backstage. D’Amore tells Rhino that he and Heath can have an unsanctioned match against Reno Scum on Saturday night at Victory Road, helping bolster the show’s card.

Tag Team Match: The Rascalz vs. The Good Brothers

Result: The Good Brothers win via pinfall following the Magic Killer.

Thoughts: Another tag match on a show that is very heavy on tag action, but arguably the best-built match and the one I have been looking forward to the most. A lot of the match spent with The Good Brothers using their strength and brute force to just beat down and tear apart their opponents. Frequent tags from the Brothers until Wentz gets the hot tag and The Rascalz get things going for them. Dez goes for a big suicide dive on the Big LG on the outside who just grabs him and throws him off like he is a fly. Back in the ring and the Good Brothers hit the Magic Killer for the W.

After the match, The Good Brothers get on the stick and finally announce their intentions to go after the IMPACT Tag Team Championships and will take the titles at Bound For Glory.

Backstage we have an old western-style face off in the hallway between Bryan Myers and Tommy Dreamer, which results in them announcing they will face off at Victory Road.

Kaleb With A K is walking with Tenille Dashwood and run into Jordynne Grace. Kaleb (again, with a K) challenges Jorynne for a rubber match at Victory Road which she accepts.

Singles Match – Johnny Swinger vs. Fallah Bahh (Winner becomes the Best Man for John E. Bravo at his wedding)

Result: And official best man for the wedding, Fallah Bahh.

Thoughts: Much of the WrestleHouse cast surrounds the ring for this one as they are all Groomspeople for the wedding. A joke match all around, Swinger purposely steps on Cody Deaner’s fingers causing a distraction leading to Swinger taking Crazzy Steve’s monkey and smashing Fallah in the head. Bravo gets on the mic and announces that Swinger cheated and the match needs to be restarted. Following the restart, Bahh crushes the Swing man in the corner then nails a Banzai drop for the win.

Gia is backstage with X Division Champion Rohit Raju discussing last week’s events. Rohit says he is both the hardest and smartest worker in the room. He says at Victory Road he will premiere the “Defeat Rohit” challenge. TJP interrupts and asks to be included in the new challenge. Rohit says that TJP, Chris Bey and Trey Miguel are all disqualified since they had their chance already.

John E. Bravo is backstage, and Johnny Swinger complains about not being the best man. Bravo cuts a promo on how piss-poor the officiating in the match was with the referee standing right in front of him.

Eddie Edwards comes to the ring to discuss being jumped last week. He tells Eric Young that he knows it was him and calls him out, but he is interrupted by Sami Callihan. Eddie calls him to the ring, but Sami denies being the one who jumped Eddie. Callihan says he can show Eddie who did it. The lights go out and when they come back on, Ken Shamrock is in the ring with Edwards. Shamrock tells Edwards to stay out of his way and beats him down. Shamrock locks in the Ankle Lock while Sami stands at ringside in Edwards’ face.

Carnivore Club

Backstage Eric Young cuts a promo on Eddie and his title defense this coming Saturday at Victory Road. He once again reiterates that he will not be held responsible for what happens going forward.

Kylie Rae talks to Susie backstage and Susie asks her if she would be mad if she wins the Knockouts Championship at Victory Road. Kylie gives Susie brand-new kick pads for the match and tells her that her time has come. Kylie leaves and we once again get a glimpse of Su Yung shining through.

Josh and Madison run down the card for Victory Road including the Defeat Rohit Challenge, the rubber match between Tenille Dashwood and Jordynne Grace, Bryan Myers facing Tommy Dreamer, the Unsanctioned match between Rhino & Heath against Reno Scum and the World Heavyweight Championship match with Eric Young defending against Eddie Edwards. Also next week on IMPACT we will see the Motor City Machine Guns face Ace Austin & Madman Fulton, while Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie will face Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan.

Tag Team Match – The North vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Result: The North wins via pinfall

Thoughts: First and foremost, The North may simply be the best tag team in all of wrestling right now, let alone just IMPACT. A lot of early dominance from Madman Fulton, who I must note has improved leaps and bounds since his run in NXT a few years ago. The alliance with Austin has helped him tremendously. The North able to slow the match down once they focus on Austin and avoid the power of Fulton. A complete breakdown towards the end of the match, with Austin standing on Fulton’s shoulders and delivering a splash on Alexander. The North’s experience really coming into play as they double team Fulton out of the ring. Fulton rises but Page whips Alexander into his legs removing him from the equation. A double team move that I can only describe as a burning hammer into a spinebuster puts away Austin for the win.

Following the match, The Good Brothers come to the ring and jaw jack with The North, with Josh Alexander bleeding from the mouth heavily. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton attack the Good Brothers from behind and The North help with the beatdown until the Motor City Machine Guns make the save and the show goes off the air with all 8 men beating the hell out of each other in and around the ring.
