Kurt Angle Turned Down WWE Offer to Manage Matt Riddle

WWE

On April 15, Kurt Angle was among the dozens of individuals released by WWE due to companywide cutbacks amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Most recently, Kurt Angle was brought into NXT to referee a clash between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher in a Fight Pit match.

While this appearance provided hope of an inevitable return to WWE, Kurt Angle revealed to Sports Illustrated that he recently turned down an offer to manage Matt Riddle.

“WWE offered me a job to manage Matt Riddle,” said Angle. “Unfortunately, I turned it down. I just have so much going with my business, Physically Fit Nutrition, and I need to make sure it succeeds before I do anything else.”

When Kurt was asked about his release back in April, he remained optimistic and has been focusing on his new business venture.

“It was almost a blessing in disguise that WWE released me,” said Angle. “The business started picking up orders, and we’re at a point where I really need to be here.
