On-Screen WWE Talent Tests Positive for COVID-19
It's been confirmed that an on-screen WWE employee (non-roster member) was symptomatic and recently tested positive for COVID-19. This individual immediately went into quarantine and reportedly feels much better.
Here's what WWE released as a statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet:
“A WWE employee has tested positive for COVID-19. We believe this matter is low risk to WWE talent and staff, as the individual and a roommate became symptomatic in the days following exposure to two people working in acute health care on the evening of March 26, after WWE’s TV production on a closed set was already complete. The employee had no contact with anyone from WWE since being exposed to those two individuals, is doing well, and made a complete recovery.”
My Thoughts: It's certainly a tad nerve-racking since the virus is highly contagious. While WWE claims to have the situation under control, time will certainly tell and I wonder if more talent will begin to pull out. All it takes is a few others to become infected and the tapings/live shows may shut down for a bit.
