AEW All Out Predictions
AEW All Out takes place this coming Saturday, Aug. 31 from the Sears Centre in Chicago, the site of last year's All In. This event sold out in 15 minutes.
The Buy In: 7pm ET
PPV: 8 p.m. ET
Available to stream live on the BR Live platform as well as traditional PPV for the price of $49.99. Also available on FITE.TV as well.
One of the biggest lingering questions heading into this PPV is the status of CM Punk. For years, fans have chanted his name in the hopes of a return, but this is one of the more realistic scenarios.
The event transpires in Chicago and CM Punk will be present for an autograph signing, but for whatever reason, I simply don’t see him returning. If that’s the case, perhaps that will eventually be the end of the CM Punk chants.
If he were to make an appearance, this would lead to arguably one of the biggest pops in pro-wrestling history.
The Buy In-Pre-Show
Private Party vs. Angelico & Jack Evans
First and foremost, you can expect an exciting spotfest. You can take that one to the bank.
Private Party previously debuted as a team in AEW at Fyter Fest, which results in a loss while Angelico and Jack Evans are 0-2 in AEW so far.
In terms of momentum, this match is incredibly important for both teams, but on the surface, it would appear that Angelico and Jack Evans need this victory more.
That said, I see Private Party getting their arms raised.
Prediction: Private Party
Women's Casino Battle Royale (Winner receives shot at inaugural women's title)
Confirmed entrants: Britt Baker, Jazz, Sadie Gibbs, Teal Piper, Big Swole, Aerial Monroe, Brandi Rhodes, Nyla Rose, Allie, Yuka Sakazaki, Ivelisse, Awesome Kong.
Some other names to expect: Kylie Rae, Penelope Ford, Bea Priestley and Leva Bates
Britt Baker and Awesome Kong have more notoriety than virtually anyone else announced and have been pushed as the faces of the division. They are both the safe, but logical bets to win.
Prediction: Britt Baker
All Out PPV Card
Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, and Marko Stunt vs. SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky
The match was made official at the 11th hour during the latest episode of Being the Elite.
With the exception of Marko Stunt, every person in this match has been prominently featured on AEW PPV’s along with Being the Elite.
Regardless of the outcome, the fans will vocally support both teams.
Prediction: SCU
Joey Janela vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Darby Allin
Don’t expect a technical affair. This will be a hardcore, fan pleasing match devoid of psychology and crispness.
None of these individuals have earned a W under the All Elite Wrestling banner. In fact, they tagged with each other at Fight for the Fallen against Shawn Spears, MJF and Sammy Guevara, but blamed each other for the loss.
Given his underdog, fighting from underneath style, Darby Allin would be ideal choice to win this match. As Jon Moxley noted, he embodies that intangible X factor that made Jeff Hardy a star.
I suspect Joey Janela will win, but I’m going with Alin.
Prediction: Darby Allin
Riho vs. Hikaru Shida
Riho and Shida both made their debut for All Elite Wrestling, tagging together in the six women tag-team match at AEW Double or Nothing.
Riho competed again at Fyter Fest on June 29th where she won a triple threat match.
Shida worked a fair bit with Shimmer while Riho continues to compete in Stardom.
I haven’t been exposed much to Shida, but I do believe Riho will reach bigger heights in AEW.
Prediction: Riho
Best Friends vs. Dark Order (Winners receive a first round bye in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament)
Trent Berreta and Chuckie T vs Evil Uno and Stu Grayson
The Dark Order made their debut and attacked the Best Friends following their victory over Angelico and Jack Evans at Double or Nothing.
Next, the Dark Order teased a similar attack at Fyter Fest, but were simply playing mind games.
At Fight for the Fallen, they defeated made their AEW in-ring debut in a three-way tag team match defeating Angélico and Jack Evans and Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. This lead them to advance to All Out for an opportunity at a first round bye in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament.
Both teams are well established, but the Dark Order are still fairly unknown commodities, which leads to believe the Best Friends will emerge victoriously.
Prediction: The Best Friends
Cody vs. Shawn Spears (w/Tully Blanchard)
The groundwork for this feud was laid down when Cody referred to Shawn as a “great hand.” This offended Spears who ultimately took out his frustrations on Cody with a steel chair to the head following his draw over Darby Allin at Fyter Fest. Cody was bleeding profusely as Brandi and MJF came to his aid.
Shawn then brought in the services of Tully Blanchard, who has since served as a consultant. This was a very strategic move since Tully competed against Dusty Rhodes on dozens of occasions and claims to know the Rhodes family inside and out.
As for Cody, he seeks revenge for the heinous attack at Fyter Fest and further wants to detail Shawn’s momentum.
Prediction: Cody exacts his revenge
AAA Tag Team Championship: Lucha Brothers (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Ladder Match)
The second AEW battle between two of the tag-teams in the world.
At AEW Double or Nothing, the Young Bucks defeated the Lucha Bros to capture the AAA Tag Team Championship. On June 16, 2019 The Lucha Bros defeated the Young Bucks to re-capture the titles.
This marks the big trilogy bout of 2019.
Maybe it’s just me, but I find it a tad perplexing that the AAA Tag-Team Titles are on the line once again. Given the weekly TNT show commencing in October, I can’t imagine these titles will be featured or even shown.
With the talent involved, you can expect this to be a high-octane match with several replayable moments throughout.
Prediction: Lucha Bros retain and the Young Bucks focus on capturing the AEW Tag-Team Championship
Kenny Omega vs. PAC
The stage for Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley was set during the conclusion of Double or Nothing. Unfortunately, Moxley was forced to withdraw last Friday due to suffering from a serious case of MRSA that returned in his elbow. According to Jon, this is expected to be a quick recovery so he will be 100% for AEW Wednesday nights on TNT.
In case you missed Kenny’s promo, he did an excellent job of showing a general lack of compassion and essentially held Moxley accountable for the injury since he was rigorously competing in Japan to check off boxes. When both are healthy, expect the feud to seamlessly pick back up.
In search of a big-name replacement, AEW landed on PAC (formerly known as Neville) in what should be a very intriguing matchup.
If you recall, PAC was originally booked for Double or Nothing, but was forced to withdraw due to creative differences. As a result, PAC completed against Adam Page one week prior at Wrestle Gate Pro.
With PAC dropping the Dragon Gate World Title last month, he’s free to compete and it appears as though those creative differences are out the window.
Prediction: Kenny Omega
AEW World Championship: Chris Jericho vs. Adam "Hangman" Page
Yes, we will see the first All Elite Wrestling world champion crowned this coming Saturday and they will proudly wear that gorgeous title around their waist.
Jericho earned this opportunity after defeating Kenny Omega at Double or Nothing while Hangman page won the Casino Battle Royale earlier in the evening.
This is your classic grizzled and egotistical heel veteran vs the clean cut babyface with a bright future who desires to carry the torch for all the right reasons .
With AEW debuting on TNT in just over a month, I would imagine they desire to capture as much attention as humanly possible and that’s why Chris Jericho will be crowned the inaugatrial AEW World Championship. Make no mistake about it, Hangman has a bright future with limitless upside and will have an opportunity to run with the gold, but it commence this Saturday.
